What are our guest experience of the Harmony Motel?

This is a lovely and relaxing place. From the road it looks like any other roadside motel, but a wonderful surprise awaits the traveler who books here. The setting is remarkable, just outside your room door is a stunning view of desert and mountain. The pool is clean and comfortable and a welcome respite after driving through the hot desert.

Other guests come away from the Harmony similarly impressed:
My husband and two daughters aged 16 and 11 yrs stayed here overnight en route to Grand Canyon. Reviews we read prior to coming described the rustic character and beauty of the place very well. My experience as well is that it is superbly designed and maintained and impeccably clean. The staff are friendly and helpful and the price is excellent. Of the nine hotels we stayed in whilst touring California this was our 2nd favourite.Go on give it a go, if its good enough for Bono it should be good enough for you!

The manager, staff, and other guests were friendly and made me feel at home. I enjoyed stargazing from the spa almost every night and sipping coffee while watching the sun rise each morning. Star Gazing and Famous Stars at the Harmony Motel

Many know that U2 visited the Harmony Motel while composing the famous Joshua Tree album. Although other visits by famous folks may not be as well known, many have discovered the charms and attraction of the Harmony.

Hollywood movies Crazy Beautiful and Route 666 were shot at the Harmony, and stars such as Kirsten Dunst of the Spiderman series and Charles Shaughnessy off of the popular TV series The Nanny frequent the Harmony.

While you may not see these particular Hollywood stars on your visit, the desert sky offers many more for those who choose to look upward. Star Gazing events are frequently scheduled at Joshua Tree National Park. If your visit coincides with the annual Perseid or Leonid Meteor Showers, you are in for a special treat!

49 Palms Oasis within a mile away from the Harmony Motel

The Harmony Motel is close to major hiking trail in Joshu tree national park. This well know trail is the Fortynine Palms Oasis (a unique and beautiful spot of the Park), this is one of five oases in the park. This oasis is in a rocky canyon. Housed at the oasis are many native fan palms, that are unique as they look very different from the trees of the other oases , beneath this are pools of water. At the Oasis there are large boulders that provide a place to rest and enjoy the natural life. This Oasis provides an important life source and home for many plants and anilmals of the park.

This is a 1.5 -mile trail that is moderately strenuous, on a round trip it adds up to 3 miles. It starts above the parking lot that asends to a ridge at the very top of the trail therefater it decends to the other side of the ridge to the oasis.
